With my creative new beginning well underway, I've found myself really gravitating towards the purple flowers - I guess you could say that I'm trying to Queen myself ;) - combining the royalty of the rich purples with the femininity I associate with flowers. Perhaps next week I will look out for some pink flowers to continue on my journey <3
Of course, the purple focus also seems fitting with the recent passing of the late Queen, which I was privileged to be able to watch the funeral of with my Mormor (#JegEskerMormor - I love my grandma in Danish).
During the funeral, the reporters mentioned looking back from the future and remembering where we were during the funeral, so I thought I would write it out so that I won't forget (because it is a memory worth keeping):
To start with, I almost slept through the initial state funeral (like 6am? #NotAMorningPerson). Luckily, I was woken up just in time to get the TV on as the coffin passed the threshold into the church, so I didn't miss a thing! Being able to spend the whole day hanging out on the couch with my Mormor watching documentaries and learning about the late Queen's legacy was actually incredible, and there is no other way I would've rather spent it <3
Beyond myself though, the way the world in general celebrated the late Queen's passing, not just in the ceremonies, but also in the people's response (especially all the flowers, like wow!) was awesome. Something my mom told me she heard also stuck out to me, about a belief that it takes 3 weeks from the time of passing for a soul to ascend to Heaven. It's incredible to think that she might still be here, watching how her people and family mourn her incredible life. I found that really moving, and I thought it fitting to share that here.
